Fruiting Body

Resupinate, thin, poroid, pores angular 4 to 7 per mm, to 5 mm thick, whitish, becoming brown with age

Smell

Strong, fungal, often described as unpleasant

Distribution

Infrequent

Habitat

On rotten wood, usually from deciduous trees

Microscopic Features

Spores subglobose smooth (4-6) µm. Basidia broadly clavate, 4 spored. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae 2.5 to 5 µm wide, thin to thick walled, simple septate. Cystidia not present, cystidioles fusiform to hyphoid with apical encrustation.
